Acne is a real problem for a lot of different people. Angry red bumps that hurt, leave scars, and ooze pus are no fun for anyone. The good news is that acne can be treated at home. A few simple steps can make a huge difference in the appearance of acne. Below are several different strategies on how to get rid of acne quick.
Method one is a prevention approach. This method should be used all the time so that newly occurring acne will become less and less as this method is followed. Acne is basically caused by clogged pores. The pores of the face are in a constant state of pushing out oils, skin cells, and dirt. They can easily become clogged, and some people have oilier skin than others.
To start this process, buy a mild facial soap. Begin by using the facial soap once every few days depending on how your skin reacts to the soap. Some skin types may tolerate the soap easier and be able to wash twice daily from the beginning. Other skin types may take a few weeks of washing every few days and slowly build up to twice a day washing.
First wet the face with warm water. To properly wash the face use only a small dime size portion of soap in the palm of your hand. Rub the soap in your palm until a foam forms. Apply the foamy bubbles to your face and gently rub in all over. Then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Your face will instantly feel the effects of the soap. There is no need to scrub or rub hard ever. A gentle washing will work just fine. Repeat this process every few days until you can work up to washing twice a day. You will continue this forever to keep your face properly exfoliated from dirt and debris.
The next step in the process is to get some form of Benzoyl peroxide. There are many products available that include Benzoyl peroxide in them, or you can just get it alone. Benzoyl peroxide helps to dry up and rid you of acne in several ways. The pores are full of dirt, oil, bacteria, and dead skin cells. Benzoyl peroxide dries up these things and delivers air into the pore. Benzoyl peroxide is applied in very small dots directly to the existing acne. The Benzoyl peroxide is applied after the face is thoroughly clean and dry. Most people apply the Benzoyl peroxide before bed. Some skin types will tolerate this better than others, just like the soap. Again, you need to start slowly and build up to applying it daily. This will greatly reduce and rid you of acne quickly. There are some products that include both a facial soap and Benzoyl peroxide, so both can be accomplished in one step.
Since acne is caused by clogged pores, it is wise to try to determine what is causing the acne. Makeup, lotions, lack of exercise, and diet are just a few of the possible causes of acne. Stress can also cause breakouts. Changing products can reduce and even rid you of the problem also. Be careful not to change out too many products at once though, because then it will be more difficult to determine the actual cause.
There are also a number of natural remedies for how to get rid of acne quick too. Dehydration contributes to acne and clogging, so be sure to stay hydrated. Fried foods are also known to contribute to pimples. If you have oily hair you should shampoo daily to prevent oil buildup. Hairsprays and chemicals used on the hair and skin also contribute to the formation of ance. Tree oil is used as a topical natural remedy and can be found in health food stores.
Consider removing anything that causes friction on your areas of acne also. If you have pimples where you commonly wear a hat, the friction and sweat buildup from the hat is contributing to the problem. Tight clothing, goggles, sports helmets, chin straps, and glasses can also add to the problem. Keeping equipment that is necessary clean is a must. Simple rubbing alcohol can be wiped on with a paper towel to remove dirt and sweat from these items.
Makeup is a problem for a lot of women. Changing brands until you find one that your face tolerates well is a good plan of action. Also be sure to replace makeup often. Never keep or use old makeup because it can hold bacteria and dirt. Replace sponges and applicators that are in contact with your skin often also. By doing all this, you can drastically reduce or even eradicate the problem.
Avoid smoking, smoke filled areas, dirt and dust filled work areas if possible also. If you must be around these things, wash your face immediately after leaving the dusty area. Pet dander also contributes, so be sure to wash with warm water and a gentle soap regularly.
Acne can be managed and gotten under control by taking these steps.
