Best Ways To Get Rid Of Acne Using Home Remedies

Severe acne can seem like the end of the world when your face breaks out at a terrible moment. Maybe you have a big meeting, presentation, or date. Whatever the case may be, you will want to get rid of your acne as fast as you can. But many people are allergic to ingredients in the store-bought acne remedies, don’t wish to use medications, or maybe have sensitive skin. The good news is that there are many home remedies that are just as effective as what you can find in the store. Read on to find out more!

1. Lemon Juice.

Mix ¼ cup lemon juice with about ¾ cup water to create your lemon juice solution. After you have created this solution, use a small washcloth to rinse your face with it.
Take care to pay attention to the areas that have been affected by your acne. You should also remember to always dilute the lemon juice in water. Like a few other items on this list, lemon juice has a high level of acidity, and as a result can be quite drying to your skin. Lemon juice’s ability to dry your skin helps to reduce the appearance and severity of your acne, but you still need to be careful.

2. Baking Soda.

Baking soda alone will not be able to attach itself to your face and your acne because of its powdery nature. In order to make it useful in getting rid of acne, mix a couple tablespoons of water to your baking soda to make a thick paste.
At this point, you have two options. If your acne is only affecting a couple of spots on your face, you can simply apply the paste to the affected areas. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes before washing off the paste.
If your acne is severe or all over your face, you may want to consider applying the baking soda paste to your face like a complete facemask. Once again, you should only leave the paste on for 10 to 15 minutes to avoid your skin from drying out too much.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar.

Like the previous two options, apple cider vinegar has an acidity that would help to reduce the appearance of your acne. While it is not as harsh as white vinegar, you should still add a little bit of water before washing your face with it as it can still dry out your skin.
Also be aware that apple cider vinegar does have a smell that may not be appealing to everyone out there, and if you only want something with acidity to get rid of your acne and are sensitive to the smell of vinegar or others, try another option (such as lemon juice).

4. Sugar Scrub.

Sugar scrubs can be found on many shelves in beauty stores, or at least in the beauty department of a larger store. In any case, the ones on the shelves often have different chemicals in them that, while they can help with your acne if used properly, can also cause some issues or add in other things to your skin.
What many may not be aware of is that it is actually quite easy to make a sugar scrub with ingredients that every average individual would already have in their cupboards. One basic sugar scrub recipe includes approximately 1 cup of sugar, and ½ cup olive oil. You have the option to include a few drops of lemon juice. Simply apply this scrub to your face and use as if you were scrubbing your face with a store-bought face wash.

5. Cinnamon and Honey.

While these two items seem like things that you would want to keep far away from your face, particularly if you have an acne problem, they are actually quite helpful. Cinnamon has antimicrobial properties that will help to keep bacteria on your face under control, and in the event that it does get out of your control, the honey has natural antibiotic properties to come in.
Rinse your face before applying an approximate mixture of cinnamon (1 teaspoon) and honey (2 tablespoons) together.

6. Egg Whites.

Most people will have eggs in their fridge, and their whites make an effective home remedy for acne. This is a result of their high protein and vitamin levels, as well as the way they soak up excess oils from your face, giving the bacteria less to feed on (and therefore, less acne).
Make sure to separate the yolks from your egg whites when using this as a remedy!

7. Tea Tree Oil.

Initially, you might ask why you would put more oil on your face. After all, isn’t acne caused by excess oil? While excess oil is a major culprit in acne problems, tea tree oil is not like regular oils. Instead, it cuts through the sebum (oil) on your face and dries it out, starving the acne and reducing its appearance.
Be sure to moisturize after using tea tree oil though, because it is quite powerful. It can be found in many natural health stores.

8. Wash Your Pillow Case.

Pillow cases should be washed at least once every week, although many people forget to do this and continue using the same pillow for longer periods of time. Unfortunately, your pillow case will end up soaking in oils and other bacteria from your face which you are then essentially rubbing your face against for 6 to 8 hours every single night.
This can make your acne much worse, and in some cases simply washing your pillow case on a more regular basis can eliminate acne altogether if you are taking good care of your skin otherwise.

9. Reduce Stress.

While stress may not be a direct factor to causing acne, too much stress will cause a little bit of havoc on things like your hormones. When your hormones alter, you can end up producing too much oil, which in turn helps to foster an environment in which acne can thrive.
Thus, you should look into stress reduction techniques in order to better regulate your hormones and reduce acne.
Of course, this will not eliminate the problem, or may not be the main cause, so you should look at another techniques listed in this article to use at the same time.
No one is doomed to live with severe acne problems, even in the middle of their teenage years. There are countless options available to you if you are looking to get rid of all your acne. Additionally, you are not limited by chemical options and can make significant progress using home remedies for acne.
The list extends beyond the options that were listed in this article, including the following: the aloe plant, garlic, potatoes, toothpaste, and of course a healthy diet with enough water and adequate sleep. Take the next step to getting rid of your acne and try one of these home remedies when you have the chance. Welcome in clear skin.
