Anyone that is experiencing acne may be wondering how to get rid of whiteheads on the face. Whiteheads are the result of an improper skin care routine and an unhealthy diet. In order to take the steps of how to get rid of whiteheads on the face it is important to change this skin care routine so it is diligently followed and to replace junk foods in the diet with a healthy diet full of antioxidants and healthy nutrients.
A person that is plagued by breakouts and is wondering how to get rid of whiteheads on the face will find their answer in exfoliating, cleansing, toning and moisturizing their skin. Exfoliating the skin is the first step because it takes the dead skin cells off the surface of the skin. Dead skin cells are responsible for clogging and blocking the pores and trapping bacteria beneath the surface. Bacteria that is trapped in the pores mixes with the sebum and develops into whiteheads. Exfoliating will be the first part of the washing process that opens up the pores so the bacteria is no longer trapped.
After the pores have been opened up with exfoliation the next step is to wash or cleanse the face. When the pores have been opened the cleanser can actually reach the interior of the pores and clean out the bacteria. Using a medicated cleanser is an even more effective way to clean out the bacteria and prevent it from coming back. Using warm water while cleansing will enhance the effect of opening the pores making it easier to clean them thoroughly.
After cleansing an astringent toner can be used to kill more bacteria and to seal the pores. Astringents make the pores tighten up so that it is harder for more bacteria to enter the face through the pores. The less bacteria that can get it means less acne will develop. Following the astringent toner should be a moisturizer. Whiteheads develop when bacteria mixes with sebum and the face produces more sebum if it is dry. Moisturizing the skin will make sure it has adequate hydration so it does not produce extra sebum that causes white heads.
A healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables will also promote clearer skin because the skin is receiving the essential vitamins it needs to be healthy. Drinking a lot of water will also help to flush built up toxins out the body.
